In the realm of mixology, there exists a concoction so divine, so exquisitely crafted, that each sip feels akin to a tender kiss from Cupid himself. Enter the Lychee Rose and Gin Martini ā€“ the pinnacle of romantic beverages. This martini transcends mere libation; it embodies the essence of romance, elegance, and femininity with every swallow of its pink hue and every waft of its fresh rose scent. Whether destined for a glamorous Valentine’s Day soiree, a romantic dinner for two, or a stylish cocktail party, this gorgeous pink martini will indulge you in a moment of pure romantic bliss.

As February unfolds in the northern hemisphere, hearts begin to flutter in anticipation for the month of romance ahead. Valentine cards are penned. Chocolatey truffles find their way into pretty paper boxes. Cocktail dresses and long-stemmed roses are purchased. This time of year, I begin to crave all things pretty and pink – chocolate too. So I decided, what better way to spend a cold February evening than to host a girly cocktail tasting around a plate of chocolate cake? The Lychee and Rose Martini is perhaps the most beautiful drink in my repertoire. It did not disappoint.

The base spirit for this enchanting elixir is gin. With its juniper notes and botanical complexity, gin lends itself to the tutti-fruity quality of the lychee fruit and the floral rose scent. Select a gin that is a bit milder, or shall we say “less pine forward”: New Amsterdam, Bombay Sapphire, or Hendricks are my top picks. Lychee liqueur and grenadine can be found at most liquor stores, and rose water can be purchased at your local grocer or online.

What You’ll Need:

Amsterdam Gin, Lychee Liqueur, Grenadine, Rose Water and limes on white marble board

Ingredients and Supplies:

Step 1. Make the Rose Syrup

You will start by making a rose syrup, which can be done ahead of time. This recipe yields about 1.5 cups of syrup, enough for about 16 cocktails. I purposely make this larger batch size of the syrup because it comes in handy when I’m hosting a party and need to make several martinis in one night. Also, I just like to have a little syrup left over. Sealed tight in a mason jar, the rose syrup lasts for weeks in the refrigerator. Having premade syrup ready-to-go cuts down on prep time in the future, should I need to whip up some of these pretty pink martinis in a pinch. Nothing impresses quite like emerging from the kitchen with fresh rose martinis – and acting like I just had them lying around. Wink.

Step 2. Shake Up and Enjoy!

I like to chill my martini glasses beforehand for a nice frosty touch. Using a cocktail jigger will ensure your drinks are perfect and consistent every time. Combine ice and your ingredients in a clean cocktail shaker and give the martinis a good hard shake. Strain into your chilled glass, top with some pretty fresh rose petals and voila!
